I am looking forward to learning more about the iPad!Sent from my iPad

Todd’s Introduction

I am Todd Knealing and I teach in the psychology department. The last book that I read was William Easterly’s The White Man’s Burden, fun stuff. I am looking forward to testing out some applications to use with my introductory psychology class next year.

I’m reading The Wordy Shipmates now.  I’ll get to Pride and Prejudice and Zombies as a springtime distraction soon.

I’m Maria O’Malley and I teach in the English and Writing Department.  Thanks for the reminder about finding the iTunes password.  I just reset mine.

This week I’m reading Harriet Jacobs’s Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl and Raymond Carver short stories for class.  See you Thursday!

Regan’s intro

Hi everyone,

I’m looking forward to learning how to use the iPad – I know nothing about it!

from Susan

With the coming of Good Friday, a “Pilot” seems oddly appropriate!!  Susan

Teresa’s short introduction

Hi Everyone

I am very excited to use the iPad and look forward to using it in the pilot program to enhance the nursing clinicals, simulation, theory, and to introduce nursing to the freshman nursing students thru the iPad. I also want to try the Prezi presentations on the iPad along with more research. Oh and my favorite color is blue. I am excited to be exploring this with all of you.

Instructor of Nursing

Gil’s Intro

Hi All,

I’m looking forward to getting creative with the iPad in the classroom!  What that will look like only time will tell.

I’ve been reading lots of books lately nothing that sounds like too much fun,The RenaissanceArt and Politics in the RenaissanceThe Reformation…I need some light reading to come my way!

Gil Ridenour

Vicki’s Intro

OK, I will admit it.  I was spoiled by the nice weather and want to see the sun again!

Janet’s Introduction

I’m looking forward to seeing all the different ways people experience and use the iPad.  My favorite thing so far is reading books on it and I just finished “Heaven is for Real” by Todd Burpo.  The Today show just did a feature story on their family this week.  Check it out at if you’re interested.  It’s an incredible non-fiction story.

I have also found some uses for my 19 year old autistic son on the iPad.  A keyboard and mouse were too abstract for him to make use of, but he has done well with the touch screen in a very short period of time.  I’m excited for the possibilities!

Janet Ward

Sally’s Introduction

Currently reading Twenty Years Crisis and another book about Germany between the wars; Keith Richard’s Life, and just finished a couple of books (one biography and one book of letters) about/by the Mitford sisters.

Theresa’s Introduction

Hi, everyone!  If you don’t know me, this is my 4th year in the Education Department.  I teach Children’s Literature, two middle school endorsement courses, and several of the methods courses for elementary education majors.  I also supervise student teachers and practicum students.  In addition, I just started working on my doctorate at USD in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Technology in Education.

I am very excited to be given the opportunity to participate in this pilot program.  I have reserved the ipad from the BCU library a couple times.  My husband saw how much I enjoyed it and gave me an ipod touch for Christmas.  The day after Christmas, I downloaded 80 apps!!!!

I am by no means a pro, but I am willing to learn all I can.

Theresa Engle

Hello from Deb

Hello from Deb Robertson, way over in the library.  My favorite color is green.  My iPad is black with a black cover, hmmmm.  I joined this group so I could learn what you learn and what you are trying to do.  Then, maybe, if I am lucky, I might be able to help your students next fall 🙂

See you soon,
